Have you ever wondered what a Lion or Tiger would sound like out in the wild? Well at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge we have a few accommodations where you can stay over the night and hear those animals talk throughout the night into the early morning.
Our most popular accommodations are our Bengal and Siberian suites. These suites are located closer to some of our animals and are more family friendly than some of our other accommodations. If you stay in the Siberian suite you will be able to see 2 of our resident tigers through the window. They also have a porch where you can relax and look across the road to see one of our african servals.
At TCWR, we have 2 glamping tents available to rent, the Bam Bam Bungalow and the Tigris Tent. These glamping tents are family friendly as well. This option has wood floors inside and canvas walls as the frame. These do not have a bathroom inside, but there is a bathroom located not too far from the tents.
We have an adult only area at TCWR. It is a little further away from some of our animals. Surrounded by nature and decorated to an African theme, it almost makes you feel you are there! The Congo, Kilimanjaro, Okavango, Serengeti, and Kalahari share an outdoor area with a fireplace and a hot tub. Each house has a private back deck to hangout as well.
Situated near one of our habitat areas, the cozy Tree House is built on stilts, it is approximately 15′ from the ground. You can reach the Tree House by a stairway up to a wraparound deck. This fun and quaint structure is the perfect escape for those who enjoy cozy comfort and the unique experience of sleeping near the treetops. It is open from March- November. The Tree House sleeps up to 4 guests, no children under 5 are allowed in the tree house.
At our facility we also have 6 RV hookups. RV spot #1 is pretty popular because it is close to one of our animal habitats. Our RV spots do not have dump stations to dump your waste but we do have electrical and water hookups.
TCWR is a non profit organization. Lodging is one of the ways we can support our animals. All funds go directly back to help the animals with food, medicine, and toys. A part of the price for accommodation is a complimentary tour for one day throughout your stay except the RV spots. We hope you get a chance to stay at TCWR as it can be a very unique and memorable experience.
